Benefits of a K-12 Comprehensive District MTSS Implementation
A comprehensive district Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) K–12 framework is a systematic approach that creates an inclusive, supportive environment where all students can thrive academically, socially and behaviorally. In this proactive and preventive model, MTSS shifts from a reactive respond and intervene approach to one that provides in-time instruction, intervention and support within the general education setting. As soon as assessment data indicates a potential need for a student or group of students, additional layers of intervention are implemented. This approach ensures that instruction, intervention and support occur across all three tiers of the delivery model. Being proactive allows educators to address academic or behavioral learning as needed.
